Record-shattering UK recovered paper exports

By some distance, the UK is now Europe’s largest exporter of recovered paper. The country’s shipments exceeded 3 million tonnes for the first time last year and, according to at least one industry expert, could reach 6 million tonnes within only a few years. In this article, Recycling International examines the reasons underlying this sharp upward trend in UK shipments.

UK exports of recovered paper increased by a shade less than 700 000 tonnes last year and are now almost six times higher than at the start of the Millennium.
