Many grades of paper and board are considered impossible to recycle inasmuch as conventional equipment simply cannot cope; e.g., shoeboard, gasket stock, flooring base, high wet strength, etc. Needless to say, reclamation of such materials is desirable, both economically and ecologically. Recognizing the need for an efficient, cost effective way to process such materials, Bolton-Emerson Americas has developed two unique machines, TORNADO and CLAFLIN,which are now routinely defibering such materials enabling reintroduction to the process, thus converting to new product, thereby saving millions of trees and avoiding hundreds of thousands of tons of landfill.
