Recycling Technology to Obtain High Purity Chemicals From Spent Nickel Anode

Abstract

This study was designed to develop an economical process for manufacturing high purity nickel chloride solution from spent nickel anodes. For manufacturing of high purity nickel solution, impurities separation and purification processes were investigated. The spent nickel anodes were dissolved in a hydrochloric acid solution. During purification process, high purity nickel solution was manufactured. Finally, after the Zn-Ni electroplating test, a nickel chloride solution made from spent nickel anode was found suitable for use in the electroplating process.
