Underground storage tank removal and contaminated soil excavation and disposal
In a residential and commercial area of a major U.S. city, an abandoned gas station site was targeted for redevelopment. To assist the area’s remediation efforts, our environmental team removed a 15,000-gallon underground storage tank, performed associated impacted soil sampling and analysis, and facilitated the removal of petroleum contaminated soil for landfill disposal. By using a risk-based analysis to determine that the site was not an environmental risk to human health or the environment, our experts reduced the volume of soil disposed in a landfill and saved the client more than $36,000. EFI Global’s successful efforts aided the city’s plans to attract life science companies to the area.
