Remediation using ERH with sheet pile electrodes confidential client, Indianapolis, IN
TRS Group, Inc. (TRS) is providing a Standard Fixed Price Remediation (SFPR) of trichloroethene (TCE), tetrachloroethene (PCE) and Vinyl Chloride (VC) in soil and groundwater using Electrical Resistance Heating (ERH) at a confidential site located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Unique aspects of this project included the installation of all electrodes, conveyance piping and wiring below ground. Rapid installation was also required to minimize impact to tenants occupying the adjacent warehouse complex. Sixty-seven out of a total of seventy-two electrodes were installed using sheet-pile techniques. Currently the operation is 70% complete with over 4,000 pounds of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) removed. The remedial goal at this site is to reduce TCE, PCE and VC in the soil to 25.73, 8.01 and 0.13 mg/kg, respectively. In groundwater, the goal is to reduce TCE, PCE and VC to 0.26, 0.056 and 0.01 mg/L, respectively.
