Rumpke Recycling has recently purchased their third Harris Gorilla two ram baler, this one for its expanding Columbus, Ohio facility. All three have been purchased and installed through Ohio Baler Co. of Cleveland, Ohio. The 200 HP baler is capable of processing 30 to 40 tons per hour of Old Corrugated Containers and Old Newspapers.
Harris incorporates state-of-the-art controls including an Operator Interface Terminal display that incorporates various user friendly screens, said the supplier. These provide continuous operating information and built-in diagnostic systems with phone modem. Harris’ unique patented Combo Door option combines the bale separation and bale release in one door, said the supplier. When fully extended, the Combo Door is closed for clean bale separation. This separation feature ensures high bale weights, densities, uniform bale lengths, and easy grade changeovers. For normal bale release, the door opens to its “home”position. During oversize bale operation, it enlarges the bale door opening by an additional 7 inches for the easy ejection of oversize bales. This simple, yet innovative mechanism, significantly reduces bale jamming, the supplier added.
Ohio Baler has also provided Harris 200 HP Gorilla balers for Rumpke Recycling’s Dayton, Ohio facility as well as a joint venture operation between Rumpke Recycling and Anheuser-Busch in Georgetown,Kentucky.
