Sempra Generation, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy (San Diego, CA), has made an investment in the Cedar Creek II Wind Farm in Colorado that will make Sempra an equal partner with BP Wind Energy in the development of the project. The Cedar Creek II project is a 250 MW facility located near New Raymer, in the high prairie about 90 miles northeast of Fort Collins. The project’s entire power output already has been sold under a 25-year PPA to Public Service Company of Colorado, a unit of Xcel Energy. Cedar Creek II is the second joint venture in wind power between Sempra Generation and BP Wind Energy. The two companies are equal partners in the 200 MW Fowler Ridge II project in Indiana.
