SIGRE - Treatment of leachate using membrane biology and a minimum of space - Case Study
The waste disposal company SIGRE operates the landfill Muertendall in Buchholz, Luxembourg. In 2003, EnviroChemie was commissioned to build a leachate treatment plant. Since January 2005, the aerobic membrane biology Biomar® OMB with nitrification and denitrification stage has been in operation as intended. A special ultrafiltration plant is integrated in the biological process. The process is designed to keep the volume of water in the plant low, which is important when space is tight, as is the case with SIGRE.
EnviroChemie has implemented more than 30 leachate plants throughout Europe.
