Working with Stobart Group to replace an ageing support system
As the UK’s leader in multimodal logistics, warehousing and biomass fuel sectors, the Stobart Group is one of the most recognised and strongest brands in Britain. With a road haulage fleet of 2,280 trucks and over six million square feet of premium quality warehousing, Stobart Group employs over 6,000 people at 50 sites across the UK.

Risk management requirements
The Stobart Group decided to replace their old risk management system which was difficult to use and inflexible. They were looking for a flexible, rapidly configured solution to meet their specific requirements. They needed a platform that would seamlessly integrate and support their existing processes and encourage high levels of user adoption. They also wanted immediate benefits and results to demonstrate the reasons for implementing the system in the first place!

Solution implemented
The Stobart Group chose to implement the Incident Management and Audit modules first. Choosing to use core Rivo functionality gave the Stobart Group a highly efficient solution that despite being tailored to their needs was still delivered from standard product. They quickly recognised the benefits Rivo could offer and extended their solution to include the Rivo Assets module to record the detail of all their assets as well as the inspections relating to plant equipment and vehicles such as PAT testing.


  • Rapid deployment – Rivo rapidly implemented the new system within three weeks using a powerful configuration tool which enables the user interface to meet exact requirements.
  • User adoption – the use of Stobart specific terminology within the system and the ability for the software to match Stobart’s existing processes resulted in significantly improved user adoption and quality of data input.
  • A consistent controlled approach – the audit module helps deliver continuous compliance. Annual Site Audits are supplemented by bi-monthly inspections which focus closely on major legislative requirements, whilst reinforcing consistency of approach throughout the Group.
  • Management reporting – Rivo supports efficient management and reporting across all aspects of the Stobart group Health and Safety programme , providing trend analysis data across the organisation.
