Techniques for processing industrial waste using arcplasma generated by the twelve-phase alternating current
We have already presented an arc-discharging plasma generator, generally called a thermal plasma generator which is constructed by the six-phase alternating current power supply(Matsuura et al, 1994a, 1997). A more effective thermal plasma generator can construct by expanding this concept. As an example, this small power supply system has been presented in reference (Matsuura et al., 1994b). In this paper, A large scale system of twelve-phase alternating current power supply constructed by connecting parallel with two types of six-phase generator is used for vitrifying not only some kinds of incinerated-ash of MSW but also these of hazardous waste. The most important advantage of this system is that the arc-discharging space is much larger than the six-phase one.
