The case of disappearing aluminium

It’s a mystery that would have exercised the ‘little grey cells’ of Agatha Christie’s super-sleuth Hercule Poirot: considerable volumes of scrap are becoming ‘lost’, and it is unclear whether the disappearance is real or simply the result of flawed statistics. are debated in the following article, which is based on ‘Global dimensions in aluminium recycling’ - a presentation delivered to the recent International Aluminium Recycling Congress in Cologne, Germany, by Günther Kirchner, Director General of the Organisation of European Refiners and Remelters (OEA).
