Single crystal silicon solar cell is a kind of solar cells which develops faster currently, and its production process has been prefect. Nowadays the single crystal silicon has been widely used in earth and even the outer space. This kind of solar cells requires high purity of silicon, almost close to 99.999%.
The appearance of polycrystalline silicon solar cells is to save costs. The production process of polycrystalline silicon is similar to the production process of single crystal, but the photoelectric silicon conversion efficiency is about 12%, lower than the single crystal silicon solar cell, but one flaw cannot obscure the splendor of the jade, the production process of material of polycrystalline silicon is more convenient, and to produce polycrystalline could save much more money.
Thin film solar cell is more close to our daily life. Thin film solar cells can be produce with the low price materials, such as glass, plastics, ceramics, graphite, metal strips and other different materials. And what makes us exciting is the thickness of thin film solar cell which is only a few nanometers. Experts believe that, within the next 5 years, thin film solar cells will be widely used in our watches, calculators even clothing.
