For borehole survey, the effective survey distance works the same way the surface survey does. This means the wider the electrode takeout, the larger the exploration distance.

The rule of thumb to calculate the maximum exploration distance between two borehole is the half of the distance between the top electrode in one borehole and the bottom electrode in the other borehole.
