This paper elaborates on the chemical composition of wastewater at selected Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) in Jordan. These plants have immense potential of providing reused treated water for irrigation. Samples from treated effluents analysed to study the efficiency of the impact of treated water on irrigation. The results revealed the effluents from WWTPs could be used for irrigation with special consideration of the possible acceleration of soil deterioration, while those of other WWTPs could be used with less concern for selected crops. The study also shows that no other toxic ions, such as lead, nickel, chromium and boron, were detected.
