A common problem in wastewater treatment plants in Australia is that generally they hold excessive amounts of solids. In fact this problem is common worldwide.  However, LuminUltra’s 2nd Generation ATP.

While traditional operating methods tend to rely on TSS and/or VSS measurements these often detect more than just living biomass. For example, TSS takes in to account living biomass, dead microorganisms and inert materials (see diagram to the right). While VSS are a slightly better measurement it is still prone to interferences from dead biomass and non-biological particles.
