Title V Compliance

Title V of the Clean Air Act Amendments assimilates all the contents of a facility's state operating permit into one binding document, in an effort to simplify permit compliance certification. However, submittal of annual compliance certification is a labor-intensive process that places significant pressure on EH&S personnel responsible for ensuring that a facility meets all the conditions in its operating permit. Gathering and maintaining compliance data forces environmental managers to undertake considerable monitoring, record keeping, and reporting activities in order to certify fulfillment of all applicable requirements within a state permit.
