H&S reporting and worker safety with Compliance Suite™ Safety Management
At Toro, Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Management is constantly looking for efficient ways to build best safety practices and assure compliance throughout the corporation.
With $1.5 billion in sales annually, Toro is a leading provider of outdoor maintenance and beautification products for home, recreation and commercial landscapes around the world. The Bloomington, Minn., company has approximately 5,000 employees worldwide.
When the company's Risk Management Department was looking to replace a health and safety software solution that could no longer be updated to meet changing regulatory requirements, they chose Compliance Suite Safety Management Software from ESS, the leading provider of EH&S and Crisis Management software and services.
Compliance Suite Safety Management allows companies to track injury, illness, first aid and near-miss incidents to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordkeeping and reporting requirements. It contains more than 70 pre-loaded reports and graphs, and enables users to maximize workplace safety and avoid OSHA fines by:
- Generating graphs
and reports that reveal trends, statistics and costs to evaluate company performance.
- Printing OSHA
300 Log, 300A Summary and the 301 Incident reports automatically.
- Keeping thorough
and accurate safety records for every employee in the organization.
- Recording total
costs associated with each incident to help lower insurance and Workers' Compensation
- Tracking multiple
occurrences of lost and restricted days so you can easily analyze their impact
on your company.
- Using the built-in
test to quickly determine if an incident is OSHA recordable.
- Storing and viewing detailed information associated with each incident, such as the causes and conditions at the time of an event.
Compliance Suite Safety Management is one of 11 integrated modules that make up Compliance Suite, a full-featured software portfolio for OSHA/EPA recordkeeping and reporting. Versions of Safety Management are available for all 50 states (and Canadian provinces) that will automatically print a completed state-specific First Report of Injury.
At Toro, the ESS software is used primarily for OSHA recordability. One of the program's standardized reports calculates injuries per total hours worked. This allows EH&S professionals to analyze data company wide. Then, based on detailed information such as the cause of injury, an organization can develop appropriate corrective actions.
Toro also uses
some of Compliance Suite's customizable reports.
