U.S. GHS - Implications for Canada`s Hazard Communication Standard

The Globally Harmonized System for Classification and Labelling (GHS) is a communication standard for hazardous chemicals that has been brought forth by the United Nations. The latest country to adopt GHS is the United States.

Canada seems to be monitoring the implementation of GHS in other jurisdictions. With the U.S. being Canada's largest trade partner, it appears logical that Canada will now take a closer look at adopting GHS.  This articles explores the implications for the current Hazard Communication Standard, WHMIS.
