United Nations Environment Programme’s Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI).
To produce one of the first ever ground breaking reports examining the building supply chain. To help stakeholders better understand resource use in the building and construction supply chain as a whole, and to identify opportunities to promote greater resource efficiency in the sector as well as and contribute towards wider socio-economic goals.
What did IMS do?
A vast amount of information needed to be collated and condensed to write the report so it was ready for the UNEP annual meeting in Quebec City Canada. IMS Consulting worked together with UNEP and Skanska during the production of the report, working from materials supplied by Skanska as well as writing content and developing visuals to aid report navigation.
The report was launched during the UNEP-SBCI 2014 Annual Meeting & Symposium Quebec City, Canada, 12 and 13 May 2014. IMS was credited as a co-author of the report and there are further plans in the pipeline to promote the Greening the Building Supply Chain initiative.
The ultimate outcome of this work is a prioritisation of green interventions by UNEP-SCBI and partners in future work programmes, and to support the development of a Sustainable Buildings and Construction programme under the 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production.
