Conductivity is a simple and cost-effective method that is frequently used to determine the concentration of dissolved substances in a sample.  At first sight, conductivity measurements may seem easy. The parameters used for the method are straightforward, but they do however vary strongly depending on the type of sample. This article explains the most important parameters and gives a number of useful tips for increasing the accuracy of conductivity measurements.
