Every year, it seems, there emerges some new sales philosophy or methodology. Perhaps this is part of the sales energy-renewal process: some new approach to selling, preached with the fervour of a new religion by its evangelists (consultants). Some of the popular ones include Miller Heiman, Solution Selling, Selling with Integrity, ROI Selling, PoV Selling, Value$elling, Cluster Selling, SPIN Selling, the Complex Sale for large opportunities, Viral Marketing (to the Long Tail) and even WOMBAT Selling. Yet amidst all these options, sales efforts are often wasted unwittingly without adequate measures of effectiveness, nor use of any systems to support recycling of prospects.
