What is sintered wire mesh laminates and the properties?
Sintered wire mesh laminates is multi layer of wire mesh / wire cloth diffusion bonded by sintering process under high temperature and pressure.
Each layer of the wire mesh is carefully inspected and cleaned, then laminated and spot welded to form a multi layer plate. After the plate is put into the sintering furnace under high pressure and temperature within time, the adjacent wires partially melt and then merge with each other. Once the sintered laminates cooled with controlled procedure and time, it becomes a rigid, stable and flat piece of sintered wire mesh. Then it is ready to be fabricated with any methods suitable for wire mesh:
Suporior characteristics of sintered wire mesh laiminates
Sintered wire mesh combines the property of the different layers of wire mesh and obtains more superior characteristics, such as:
- Fixed and stable pore size for more accurate filtration
- Higher resistant to temperature and pressure
- Self-support and easy to form filter tube without any external support
- Robust structure for backwashing and backflushing
- Excellent cleanability leads to longer lifetime
- No risk of wire migration under abrasion or deformation
- Versatile configuration for various application due to customization of layers
Application and usage of sintered wire mesh laminates
Sintered wire mesh can be formed into many types of filter elements:
These sintered wire mesh and corresponding filter elements can be used in filtration and separation in industries like:
- oil & gas
- food & beverage
- marine & offshore
- other industry
The related equipment using these sintered filter elements may include:
- nutsche filter / dryer,
- cartridge filter,
- candle filter,
- tank & pipe vent breather,
- basket filter strainer,
- pressure leaf filter,
- automatic self-cleaning filter
- industrial scale chromatography column
- fluidized bed / diffusing screen
- polymer melt filter
Standard material and sizes of sintered wire mesh laminates
The standard material for the sintered wire mesh is 316L stainless steel. 316L is the mostly chosen material with the balance of corrosion resistance, physical property and price. 304, 304L, 316 stainless steel is also available as request but not recommended.
For tougher and more demanding working fluid and environment, other exotic materials can be used for the sintered wire mesh and filter elements, such as 310S, 254 SMO, Monel 400, Inconel 600 625, Hastelloy C276, Hastelloy C22, Duplex 2205, Duplex 2507, etc.
Standard sizes of the sintered wire mesh are available in 500*1000mm, 1000*1000mm, 600*1200mm, 1200*1200mm and 1200*1500mm, other sizes inside these ranges can be customized.
Customization of all aspects is totally available to meet all your requirements.
