Accelerated Technology Laboratories, Inc. (ATL) was founded in 1994 in the Silicon Valley in response to the need for an easy to use, affordable Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). At that time, there were over two dozen LIMS solutions on the market, but none were based on a mainstream operating system, nor could they be easily employed. ATL pioneered Windows-based LIMS with our flagship product Sample Master. Since then, we've launched a diverse portfolio of data management solutions that serve a variety of markets and industries.

Along with providing world-class products and services, ATL operates in an environmentally responsible way. Being green is in our DNA, literally and figuratively. We recycle our office waste, paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass; utilize 30% post-consumer recycled paper packing material; have replaced all old light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs; and utilize low-flow plumbing fixtures, Energy Star appliances, and multi-zone air-conditioning coupled with tinted office windows. We produce all documentation electronically, with the option to provide printed materials for clients who prefer hard copies. ATL leverages Virtual Machines to minimize the number of systems used internally, and we utilize GPUs (Graphical Processing Units) to reduce electrical usage in our servers and in our bioinformatics R&D. We promote car-pooling, biking, and telecommuting, and offset the carbon emissions generated by our air travel by planting enough trees to balance approximately 200 tons of CO2 annually.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the specialized international agency for standardization for 91 countries at present, has established the ISO 9000 series as a set of three individual yet related international standards on quality management and quality assurance developed in order to maintain efficient quality systems in those companies who are certified. The purpose of ISO is to promote the development of standardization and related world activities to facilitate the international exchange of goods and services, and to develop cooperation in intellectual, scientific, technological, and economic activity. The results of ISO technical work are published as international standards.
