The core business of the Apollo Group is the design, manufacturing, sales and installation of components as well as complete integral solutions for mechanical handling and transport installations for the bulk and the packed goods industry. The roots of Apollo were established in 1847, when Mr. G. van den Pol started his blacksmith shop in Nijkerk, The Netherlands. Since then, the local one-man shop has developed itself into the current company with various markets. It is still the Van den Pol family who owns and manages the company. Over the years, Apollo has created a worldwide group of customers and because service is one of Apollo’s main factors of success, it is important to be in attendance all over the world. When business got booming, Apollo started together with their affiliated company Ryson International Inc, a prodcuction facility which is based in Yorktown, Virginia, USA to serve the American market. Ryson Inc, is specialized in Spiral Conveyors and Bucket Elevators.

In 2008 Inter Service Coevorden was added to the group, this meant exploring a whole new market. The biggest advantage is that Apollo has expanded their product range again and is able to help more customers who deal with material handling problems.
With the goal of global presence in the back of Apollo’s mind they wanted to grow in the Asian market. The partnership with Hough Fuh in 2011 for Spiral Conveyors contributed to the realization of that goal. But Apollo wanted to grow more. That’s why, in 2016, they opened a new office in Bangkok. Being closer to the Asian customer, it enables Apollo to serve the market better and be more responsive to the specific customer requirements.
Apollo’s drive to grow will be achieved by executing a focused strategy and it will be managed by the next (sixth!) generation of the family, Claudia van den Pol, who succeeded her father at the start of 2016. As the company's new CEO, she'll bring the needed energy, drive and vision to deliver the long term goals and to build further on the foundation that the previous generations have created.
