Aquavitrum exists with the sole aim of recovering glass cullet from highly contaminated glass based waste streams. Aquavitrum is a research, design and manufacturing company providing innovative equipment for Material Recycling Facilities (MRF). Within the glass industry globally the quality of MRF glass has long been recognised as too poor for re-melt and as such, the environmental benefits of recycling glass are yet to be fully realised. British Glass addresses this its Glass Collections – Position Paper.
Although new technology at some stage in the future may well be advanced enough to produce good quality recycled glass through MRF sorting, there is still some way to go before this happens.”
Aquavitrum is proud to be able to say that this time has come.
Aquavitrum’s technology was invented by Paul Rogers in 2012. In 2013 private investors NdC Investments Ltd came on board to provide funding and skills to progress the development of the patented Aquavitrum Separator technology. A collaboration with the University of Southampton and funding from Innovate UK also assisted in the development of the technology.
