Associazione Italiana Economisti dell`Energia (AIEE)
AIEE a non -profit professional organization an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences anong energy experts. It acts as an independent consulting organization for national and international organizations to whom it provides a broad contribution of energy economics, policymaking and theory. It also provides a means of professional communication and exchange with the institutions in charge of the definition of the Italian energy policy through meetings and joint initiatives.
The Italian Association of Energy Economists - AIEE was founded in 1989 as the Italian Affiliate of the International Association for Energy Economics - IAEE - a distinguished association founded in 1977 that had not had any Affiliate/Chapter in our country up to that time-
Founding members were Alberto Go, Edgardo Curcio, Giuseppe Carta, Vittorio D'Ermo, Ernesto Nathan, Andrea Ricci, Nicola Merzagora, Andrea Ketoff and others..
Since its foundation, the Association has rapidly grown: it has regularly organised many seminars and conferences both national and international; it has also taken part in almost all debates regarding the Italian energy policy. AIEE has sent to its members the AIEE Newsletter and a collection of publications and it has also organised a post graduate course in energy economics.
From an essential structure with a few members, during the last few years AIEE has recorded a rapid expansion of its membership with 250 direct members and 25 institutional members, two headquarters (Rome and Milan), the participation in various international committees and structures of the IAEE and a prominent position in the Italian energy sector.
