Investing in the future: department 'New Technologies'
ASYS has a department that deals only with the development of new technologies. A team of about 20 developers and application specialists is are busy every day to develop machine concepts and technologies that meet the highest levels of accuracy, precision and process stability.
Three core competencies have emerged: printing, laser and LED technology applications. Interdisciplinary collaboration is encouraged to achieve synergy effects, for example, in the structure and edge detection for high-precision alignment of products or substrates.
Promising technology fields
The ASYS Futurelab opens promising technology fields. One focus is currently micromachining and drilling in 2D and 3D wafer level packaging (WLP) in the back-end of microelectronics manufacturing. Besides micromachining, ASYS – together with its subsidiary Botest – is active in organic electronics.

6σ Quality Standard
Screen printers of EKRA and ASYS SOLAR provide high precision for all production demands. 6σ (Sigma) is a standard that guarantees maximum quality in manufacturing. The sigma rating is an indicator for the percentage of mispositioned prints resulting from the machine alignment capability. For the purposes of illustration: 3 Sigma means that one part out of 370 parts is misaligned. 6 Sigma means that one part out of 500,000,000 parts is misaligned.
Ecoprofit: Environmental Management
With the 'Ecoprofit' initiative, the ASYS Group is working to make future projects more sustainable. The goal is a holistic environmental management, which continuously strives to reduce the consumption of resources and the environmental impact of all production processes. Parameters such as energy and water consumption, emissions and recycling are key areas of the process.
