Tumor markers found in blood, urine and body tissues can be used in diagnosing and treating cancer. Each tumor marker is indicative of a particular disease and thus can be used for the screening, monitoring and diagnosis of specific tumor types. In addition to being used in prognosis, these molecular markers help to predict the response, resistance and toxicity to therapy. For example, BCR-ABL gene sequence detection is used to diagnose chronic myelogenous leukemia and acute lymphatic leukemia.
Modern genomics labs are looking for high-throughput, quality-data workstations to perform PCR reactions at a reduced cost. PCR reaction setup is a tedious and time consuming process as it requires mixing multiple reagents in specific ratios to achieve the proper master mix for amplification. Moreover, the exact volumes of the reagents and buffers depend upon the total number of samples to be amplified and the desired final concentration of sample DNA. Automation of such procedures eliminates both human error...
Mercury and its sompounds are highly toxic materials and can be transferred into the human body via water; the concentration of mercury in water generally is very low. With the superior sensitivity of Aurora`s Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer, the LUMINA 3300, direct measurement of mercury in water sample is possible.
Aurora`s TRANSFORM series of microwave digestion systems, offers high-pressure and temperature systems in order to increase reaction rates and decrease digestion times for sample preparation for trace metal analysis in soil.
