The AVA GmbH (Waste Utilization Plant, Augsburg, Ltd.) is a young company that operates one of Europe’s most modern waste utilization facilities. With the creation of its waste disposal site, a model waste management concept (Augsburg Model) has been put into practice which unites municipal and private sectors in a mutually beneficial partnership with rational and practical operation of the facility’s sectors of waste-fired power plant (thermal power generated from waste), composting, and sorting.
