Since 1989 aws were the first to replace incinerators in australia with its aws quarantine treatment systems by steam sterilisaton at seaports starting with its aws onsite aws quarantine waste treatment system at gladstone port in 1992 to enable the clients to meet their legislative obligations and their requirements. Aws has continued research to successfully design, develop and manufacture in australia, so as to upgrade existing clients aws systems and to supply world leading biohazardous waste treatment systems to meet all of clients current requirements and with aws comprehensive technical support.

- AWS WERE THE FIRST IN AUSTRALIA TO SUCCESSFULLY ESTABLISH, MANAGE AND OPERATE A TREATMENT FACILITY TO STEAM STERILISE HOSPITAL AND QUARANTINE WASTE IN 1995 AT YATALA WITH ITS OWN AWS CLINICAL WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEMS USING PROCEDURES AND DOCUMENTATION APPROVED BY THE THEN QUEENSLAND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY,DAFF AND QUEENSLAND HEALTH. THE FACILITY HAD CONTRACTS WITH QUEENSLAND HEALTH.
- AWS WERE THE FIRST IN AUSTRALIATO INSTALL A CLINICAL WASTE STERILISER IN A HOSPITAL POWERED BY COGENERATION WASTE HEAT AT REDCLIFFE HOSPITAL IN 1998 WITH ITS ONSITE AWS CLINICAL WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEM.
- SHORTLY THEREAFTER AWS INSTALLED AN AWS CLINICAL WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEM ONSITE AT ROYAL DARWIN HOSPITAL TO SUCCESFULLY MEET THE CLIENT’S REQUIREMENTS.
- AWS PROVIDES ONGOING COMPREHENSIVE TECHICAL SUPPORT TO ITS AWS WASTE TREATMENT SYTEMS TO CONTINUE TO MEET CLIENTS UPDATED REQUIREMENTS AND CHANGING LEGISLATIVE OBLIGATIONS.
- IN 2013, AWS BECAME THE FIRST TO PROVIDE A FULLY AUTOMATED QUARANTINE WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEM AT QANTAS AT BRISBANE AIRPORT TO MEET THE CLIENT’S SPECIFICATIONS.
- IN 2014 AWS WAS CONTRACTED TO PROVIDE THE FIRST ONSITE TOTALLY AUTOMATED FULLY ENCLOSED CLINICAL WASTE TREATMENT SYSTEM AT FIONA STANLEY HOSPITAL IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA INCLUDING ONGOING COMPREHENSIVE MAINTENANCE AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT.
- ON COMPLETION OF THE FSH AWS SYSTEM IT WILL BE THE FIRST ONSITE CLINICAL WASTE TREATMENT IN THE WORLD WITH FULL INFECTION CONTROL, THE ONLY TRULY SAFE SYSTEM, ONSITE OR OFFSITE.
