About Us
The business sells most of its products through distribution and direct to original equipment manufacturers. These customers operate in a variety of process industries including chemical, oil and gas, food and beverage, pulp and paper, aggregate and cement, mining, paper and packaging, agriculture and water/wastewater.
Baldor Electric Company was acquired by ABB in 2011. The name of the company changed to ABB on March 1, 2018.
The company was founded in 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri, and has been based in Fort Smith, Arkansas since 1967. On January 27, 2011, the company was acquired by ABB Ltd of Zurich, Switzerland.

From our home office in Fort Smith, Arkansas, we support the sales offices/warehouses that stock Baldor products worldwide, selling to distributors and original equipment manufacturers in more than 70 countries. Baldor products are available from 50 sales offices/warehouses in North America and 26 offices serving international markets. These products are produced at 26 plants in the US, Canada, England, Mexico and China.
