ABB Motors and Drives North America (formerly Baldor Electric Company) is the US motors, drives and generators business of ABB`s Motion division. We are the leading marketer, designer, manufacturer, and service provider of industrial electric motors and drive products. Our industrial motors are sold under the brand names ABB and Baldor-Reliance. They range from sub-fractional to 100,000 horsepower and include NEMA, IEC, AC, DC, variable speed, synchronous reluctance, and servo motors. Our line of Dodge mechanical power transmission products include mounted bearings, enclosed gearing, couplings, bushings, sheaves, and pulleys. Preventive and predictive services are available for both motors and mechanical products. Baldor Electric Company was acquired by ABB in 2011. The name of the company changed to ABB on March 1, 2018.
The company was founded in 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri, and has been based in Fort Smith, Arkansas since 1967. On January 27, 2011, the company was acquired by ABB Ltd of Zurich, Switzerland.

From our home office in Fort Smith, Arkansas, we support the sales offices/warehouses that stock Baldor products worldwide, selling to distributors and original equipment manufacturers in more than 70 countries. Baldor products are available from 50 sales offices/warehouses in North America and 26 offices serving international markets. These products are produced at 26 plants in the US, Canada, England, Mexico and China.
