About Us:
As a globally operating company, BASF’s social engagement contributes to solving current and future social challenges. In doing so, we combine impact-oriented social activities with long-term corporate success.
As a founding member of the UN Global Compact, we concentrate our global social engagement on supporting the United Nations to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With our Social Engagement Strategy we want to open up learning opportunities. This means we want to empower people and organizations to learn from one another and with one another. Together with our partners, we align our social engagement in an impact-oriented way. This means we agree on clear objectives and measure success according to its long-term impact on society.
We support the achievement of these goals with donations and our own not-for-profit activities (Corporate Citizenship) as well as with business-orientated projects (Starting Ventures).
In 2015, the BASF Group supported projects totaling €56.2 million (2014: €45.4 million), 46% of which we donated (2014: 32%). We support the BASF Foundation, a charitable organization, in its international projects with various UN and non-governmental organizations.
