Odors are a fact of life for many manufacturing processes. But as residential and commercial zones are being located closer together and federal and local regulations get ever more strict, the need for efficient and cost effective odor control grows. 

BBR´s biofilters efficiently remove a wide range of odors including hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and VOCs. The bio-filter uses a fluidized bed that is 100 times more efficient than static bio-filtration beds. The only output from the system is clean air and water that can be discharged directly into the sewage system. 

It is a clean, sustainable and highly cost-effective solution for a wide range of applications.

By fluidizing the filter bed, BBR has been able to address many of the drawback of conventional bio-filters, such as: a large foot print and an inability to cope with fast and fluctuating airflows. The fluidized bed has at least 100 times more surface are per unit volume than conventional filters, making BBR filters efficient and compact.

BBR technology removes odours, HAPs and VOCs from exhaust from agricultural and industrial facilities.

The technology uses a three stage process

1. Horizontal Scrubber

  • Specifically targets components in the air stream
  • Enables the efficient removal of a cocktail of impurities from a gas
  • Almost total H2S removal
  • No hazardous waste produced

2. Radical Cracking

  • Hydroxyl radicals are injected into the scrubber brine to crack complex hydrocarbons
  • The scrubber brine is continuously cleansed to minimize effluent
  • The cleaning water is recycled minimizing consumption

3. Biofiltration

  • The BBR system is much more efficient and less expensive to run than competing technologies
  • The fluidized bed has at least 100 times more surface area per unit volume than conventional filters, making BBR filtrs efficient and compact
