For over 40 years, Biosan Laboratories has been the respected leader in industrial microbiology. Our microbiological test kits, the Sani-Check B and BF, are the trusted dipslides for detecting and enumerating microorganisms in cooling towers, metalworking fluids and other industrial applications. We also manufacture the Sani-Check SRB and APB test kits for detecting organisms associated with microbiologically influenced corrosion or MIC. Biosan also offers various microbiological laboratory services such as the antimicrobial testing of textiles, plastics, metalworking fluids, fuels, paints, inks, adhesives, and building materials. Our highly experienced microbiologists specialize in detecting organisms of environmental concern such as Legionella and Mycobacteria in addition to antimicrobial laboratory testing using ASTM, AATCC, JIS, and ISO standards.
Biosan Laboratories is an environmental microbiological laboratory that was founded by Dr. Harold Rossmoore in 1973. Our initial microbiology lab was in Ferndale, MI where we remained until 1994. Since we knew many of our laboratory customers would benefit from the ability to perform microbial testing on-site, Biosan developed the following bacteria and fungi test kits: the Sani-Check AB for detecting bacteria, the Sani-Check YM for detecting fungi, the Sani-Check SRB kit for detecting anaerobic sulfate reducing bacteria.

In response to our clients’ needs, we developed an agar based detection method known as a dipslide for microbial testing. In 1994, we moved to a 6400 square foot building in Warren, Michigan and added a 3600 square foot manufacturing area in order to expand our manufacturing capacity. Today our production department is dedicated to making high quality agar dipslides for the microbial testing of a variety of industrial fluids.

Our highly experienced microbiologists provide antimicrobial testing services for a variety of industries including textiles, plastics, paints, inks, metalworking fluid, and water treatment using ASTM, AATCC, JIS and ISO standard microbial methodologies. They also provide consulting in antimicrobial testing protocol design for those clients that required customized testing.
