Bluewater Bio is an established specialist in the cost effective treatment of water and wastewater, founded in 2007 to develop HYBACS® , a patented ‘HYBrid ACtivated Sludge’ process, powered by the company’s SMART™ units. Bluewater’s team of experienced technicians and project managers have a deep understanding of water and wastewater demand, usage and legislation across all global markets, but especially the UK, Middle East and South East Asia (where HYBACS has been running successfully in multiple municipal, industrial and commercial applications for over 15 years).
Bluewater Bio is an international company with global reach, headquartered in London, with offices in China and Bahrain, and with partners in USA, Russia, Spain, India and South Africa. We are involved at all stages of provision, from plants design and costing through to installation, commissioning and training and, when required, the provision of operation and maintenance (O&M). Bluewater Bio's growing technology portfolio is focused primarily on the monitoring, optimisation and rapid upgrading of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. Its products have a particular emphasis on reducing CAPEX, OPEX, energy & chemical consumption, physical & environmental footprint and deployment & commissioning timelines, whilst also controlling greenhouse gas emissions.
HYBACS® is rapidly gaining commercial traction among a growing number of companies in Europe, North America, South Africa, Asia and the Middle East, on the basis of its commercial superiority to comparable high performance treatment processes worldwide, across a wide range of treatment requirements. HYBACS® is an innovative nutrient removal wastewater treatment process that was developed from a process originating in South Korea. It is applicable to new as well as existing works, over a wide range of scales, and has been proven commercially in over 25 applications with recent contracts including: the 100,000m3/day upgrade of the largest wastewater treatment works in Bahrain; and Severn Trent Water's Ashbourne sewage treatment works in the UK, serving a population equivalent of 35,000.
Following the acquisitions of Water Innovate Ltd (from Cranfield University) and FilterClear Ltd, and licensing agreement with NeoTech Aqua Solutions, Inc., Bluewater Bio’s core capabilities now include:
