Sustainability

50+ years and still green

Recycling is all about the value of re-use. It's what drives our customer's business and the industry. We believe that there is no waste. There are only valuables. This is our inspiration in contributing to our customer's businesses, the recycling industry and the world as a whole. To us this is the very essence of sustainability. You will find it in every aspect of the Bollegraaf brand and our operation; our machines have the lowest power consumption of the industry, the longest life span and the highest residual value. Besides that, they are painted green with water based paint.

History

Dutch Glory At Its Finest

Bollegraaf was founded in 1961 as Machinefabriek en Plaatsnijbedrijf H. Bollegraaf. Founder Hartog Bollegraaf was a car dismantler and trader in scrap metal, but was born with a love for making things. He started producing vertical balers, and their high quality quickly became well known. The quality and sustainability of the balers have experienced a strong development – from vertical, via semi-automatic to the current fully automatic baler with pre-press flap. The concept quickly took root. From a purely Dutch business, Bollegraaf developed into a multinational company.

In 1989 Heiman Bollegraaf took over the business from his father. Under his direction, during the nineties and the first ten years of this century, Bollegraaf became a global player in the area of recycling and waste processing equipment and complete state-of-the-art recycling installations.

As his retirement age was approaching, Heiman Bollegraaf sold a majority of the shares to ABN AMRO Participaties in 2015. He retired as General Manager, but stayed on as Business Development Director. This position focuses on product development, innovations and new technologies.

Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions Group has gained an international reputation. The machines and installations are being sold worldwide. Since the beginning of this century, Lubo Systems in Emmen, which mostly focuses on design and development of innovative sorting and recycling installations for construction, demolition and industrial waste and separation technologies, is also part of the group.
