Botek Systems AB
We develop, manufacture and supply mobile weighing solutions with systems for RFID-based collection recording and associated software solutions to plan, execute and report collection services within the waste management industry. In 1978, Botek’s founder Bo Stålhandske installed the first on-board scale on a truck and the company has since then been focusing on mobile weighing systems. Today, we are happy to have about 30 dedicated employees in our own departments for software development, technical development and producing of electronic components. We have fitters, service technicians and support technicians in our facilities in Ulricehamn and Stockholm.

About Us
Botek develops, manufactures and supplies solutions to measure, monitor and optimise waste collection services within the recycling and waste management industry.
The on-vehicle solution includes digital driving routes, RFID identification of bins and equipment for automatic weighing of waste. Each collection is data recorded with additional information such as exceptions and GPS position which are reported back to the office in real-time.
The RFID system is designed to increase fleet efficiency by reducing the number of missed bins, avoid service to non-paying clients and provide validation of services to customers. The weighing system increases collection accuracy by detecting overloaded bins and provides valid weight data for invoicing which is an incentive for increased recycling rates and reduce landfill costs.
Boteks solutions help the service providers to achieve a quality controlled collection process which leads to efficient and profitable operations.
The Future
Waste management systems bring more advantages for the environment than you might first think. Using route planning to reduce route length is one, but there are many other environmental benefits.
Our systems provide you with an accurate billing record, based on identification and weighing. When the bills for waste collection start coming in you generally find that the volume of bulk waste decreases and the level of recycling increases. Or to put it plainly: When people have to pay for what they throw away, they throw away less. And that’s clearly good for the environment.
The same applies to our GPS-based route planning. It helps you minimize fuel consumption and maximize efficiency at the same time. It does this in various ways, from calculating the shortest route to helping you avoid areas where traffic is especially heavy at certain times of day. This has positive knock-on effects, such as making collection rounds faster and reducing fuel consumption, which cuts costs.
Profitability
The first thing our new customers usually notice is that effective route planning cuts fuel costs and improves working efficiency. But there are additional factors that also contribute to a more profitable business.
Weighing and ID systems from Botek improve your opportunities for taking payment. Weighing waste lets you bill customers on a pay-by-weight basis. Identification of bins also makes it easy to charge for each collection on a pay-as-you-throw basis.
With our systems you mark and identify every waste bin with a tag. During this process many of our customers have found that a number of their customers have not been paying for waste disposal. Our system makes it impossible to avoid payment, so you get the income you are due. The data that is gathered (weight of waste collected, addresses, etc.) can be transmitted wirelessly straight to your billing system. This eliminates unnecessary administration and time-consuming paperwork.
Safety
Quality plays an important role in ensuring good profitability. Our weighing systems are designed to withstand hard use, which naturally means fewer operating stoppages.
A vehicle that is out of action quickly eats up the money you thought you could save by opting for a budget solution. It may sound obvious, but in this case we think it is worth repeating: quality pays. Even if a problem does occur, our service and responsibility policy ensures you will be back on the road again as soon as possible.
