Chemwise Associates is an established management consultancy serving a wide European client base ranging from the European Commission to small businesses.  The Principal of Chemwise is Bob Warner who for many years led the UK negotiating teams dealing with chemicals law at the EU and UN.  He was also responsible for making UK laws (such as CHIP) which implemented many EU Directives on chemicals.  In this field he gained an international reputation.

Bob is an independent management consultant and technical expert; through Chemwise and its Associates he has been contracted to provide advice on the practical challenges of REACH and GHS.  In addition to the European Commission (where technical advice was provided on the new CLP Regulation during negotiations and the development of guidance), Bob has worked for a wide range of large and small firms as well as the OECD, several EU Governments, European and UK Trade Associations, and the Chemical Industries Association's REACHReady scheme.

Chemwise brings the experience of Bob Warner and his Associates to help business manage the daunting challenge of new legislation on chemicals.

In this work Bob brings together his professional qualifications (Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and MBA), his practical experience as a manager in both industry and the public service, his work as a health and safety inspector with extensive experience as a prosecutor, his role heading delegations at the EU and UN on international chemical regulation, and his considerable experience in advising businesses.

There are a host of providers who claim to offer REACH and CLP / GHS help, with spectacular websites.  Some of these are very good.  What makes Chemwise special?   We suggest you consider the following questions when selecting someone to assit your precious business:

  • Is there direct experience of the development and negotiation of the specific law?
  • Is there direct experience of the application of chemicals legislation in an enforcement and advisory role?
  • Is there direct experience of life in industry?
  • Is there a solid and satisfied client base which ranges from Governments through Trade Associations to small businesses?
  • Is there in depth legal experience in the giving of advice and representation in court?
  • Are the practitioners qualifed and professionally recognised chemists?
  • Are there relevant formal qualifications in chemistry and management?
