Our instruments are innovative and simple to operate whilst being supported by an industry-leading 15 year warranty. With over 40 years of experience we can offer our products with knowledge, backup, support and confidence.

Our products are available worldwide and are available through a range of Cirrus Research plc offices, carefully selected distributors and service centres. We also offer our existing and prospective customers advice and information to help them determine which instrument is best suited to their application.

Our commitment is to provide a high quality product at a competitive price in our core market areas, supporting our customer and distributors with noise measurement instruments that meet the latest and highest standards.

To meet these commitments, Cirrus has implemented a Quality and Environmental Management program that has been certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004.

Cirrus Research has always specialised in the development and production of noise measurement instrumentation.

Cirrus Research milestones include the world’s first Type 1 Data Logging Sound Level Meter, the first Type 1 Data Logging Real-Time Analyser, and the world’s first twin channel Data Logging Dosimeter to meet the EC Directive 86/188/EEC in all respects.

Cirrus Research Engineers were the first to publish the detailed specifications for the L3M and DP15 interfaces which were successfully used by several other Sound Level Meter manufacturers.

In 1997 Cirrus launched the innovative doseBadge, the world’s first completely self contained wireless noise dosemeter. The doseBadge has been developed continually from its introduction with new features and functions added with each new version.

2006 saw Cirrus obtain the first PTB Type Approval of a Sound Level Meter to the new IEC 61672 standard. The CR:261S Vehicle Noise Sound Level Meter was designed to meet a customer requirement and was designed, certified and delivered within 12 months.

In 2008 the CR:515 and CR:514 Acoustic Calibrators were granted Type Approval by the PTB to the latest standards, the first units of this type to obtain this prestigious certification.

2010 saw the introduction of Optimus, the next generation of sound level meters from Cirrus. The Optimus instruments combine the very latest technology with ease of use to provide the ideal sound level meter for any application.

Cirrus Research plc has a Quality Management system that is certified, by BSI, to the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.

This independent assessment was conducted by BSI, the UK’s leading Certification Body, and demonstrates Cirrus Research plc’s commitment to customer service and quality.

Cirrus Research plc has now earned the right to display the coveted BSI logo to demonstrate its conformity to the standard.

The certification for Cirrus Research plc applies to the design, manufacture, supply, service and re-calibration of a wide range of sound and noise measuring and monitoring instrumentation to a worldwide market. ISO 9001:2008 is recognised worldwide. It requires organisations to demonstrate that they have a quality management system to ensure consistency and continuous improvement; leading to higher levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
