Taking place between September 24-30, 2018, in New York City, Climate Week NYC is one of the key summits in the international calendar and has been driving climate action forward since it was first launched by The Climate Group in 2009.

In 2018, Climate Week NYC comes at a critical point in the global response to climate change. The summit will take place alongside the UN General Assembly and will bring together international leaders from business, government and civil society to showcase the unstoppable momentum of global climate action. Climate Week NYC is the collaborative space for climate-related events in support of the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Businesses, governments, academic institutions, arts and music organizations, and NGOs are all invited to participate in the iconic week, through the Climate Week NYC Affiliate Events program. From panel discussions, to concerts, exhibitions and seminars, organizations and individuals can play a pivotal role in advancing the debate, driving awareness, and keeping climate action at the top of the global agenda. Climate Week NYC 2017 was host to more than 140 affiliate events.

The Climate Group is an international non-profit, founded in 2004, with offices in London, Beijing New Delhi and New York. Our mission is to accelerate climate action. Our goal is a world of under 2°C of global warming and greater prosperity for all, without delay.

We do this by bringing together powerful networks of business and governments that shift global markets and policies. We act as a catalyst to take innovation and solutions to scale, using the power of communications to build ambition and pace. We focus on the greatest global opportunities for change.

The Opening Ceremony attracts CEOs, government ministers, governors, mayors and investors from around the world. They are shaping markets and setting policy to make climate action a reality. Past speakers have included Ban Ki-moon, Tim Cook, John Kerry, Christiana Figueres, Tony Blair, Amina J. Mohammed and Richard Branson. This year, we expect our distinguished speakers to include senior leadership of the UN, global CEOs and national leaders.

Climate Week NYC 2018 will provide the first opportunity to delve into the ramifications and renewed direction resulting from the Global Climate Action Summit that takes place earlier in the September. Businesses, cities and states are coming together over this period to step up climate leadership, and will be calling on their peers and governments to do the same – to put the world on-track to achieve the Paris Agreement.

Climate Week NYC 2018 will be a key moment for global climate action. The Opening Ceremony is one of the most critical events in the climate calendar and will set the agenda in a crucial week for those making the changes needed to meet the Paris Agreement. Taking place just a few blocks from the United Nations General Assembly, The Opening Ceremony also plays an important role in bringing together world leaders from both the business and political spheres to act on climate.

To mark our 10th Climate Week NYC, The Climate Group is proud to announce The Hub, where we will bring governments, businesses and global organizations together to lead on climate action.

Taking place on September 25, 2018 at Convene, 237 Park Avenue, The Hub will host figures from the finance, risk, policy, innovation, energy and manufacturing sectors, as well as other organizations leading on climate action. In addition, key investors, major decision makers and cutting-edge NGOs will be invited to attend events held by The Climate Group and our partners featured in The Hub.

2018 is the first year Climate Week NYC has provided an official space to network and drive climate action. As Climate Week NYC events take place across New York throughout the week, The Hub will provide a focal point where those with the power to make a difference can have the conversations needed to progress decisions and step up commitments.

The events program will be complemented by meeting spaces and other facilities which will be accessible all day for participants to network and hold small meetings. The day will close with a networking reception which all of The Hub attendees will be invited to.

Our timetable of events will be published soon. You can find out more information about how to get involved, sponsorship opportunities and how to arrange hosting your own official Climate Week NYC 2018 event by contacting  Danielle Bidos.
