Our History
The Clyde Blowers story is a remarkable tale of entrepreneurial transformation. The story begins in 1992 (although it does have a preface that goes back further) with the purchase of just under one-third of a small company in the Glasgow area. Not only was the company the smallest in its market segment, it had aged equipment and financially was performing poorly.

Slightly more than a decade later this company had been transformed into a portfolio of companies, several of which were in the top three in the world in their specific markets. More significantly, out of the process of transformation over this period evolved a new business model that has now laid the foundation for a further period of change that will allow the companies to strike out in new directions. The attached historical profile of Clyde Blowers as at 2008, charts the development through to the raising of CBC Fund II.

Our Vision
We have a track record of delivering market leading returns for our investors by focusing on the core industries within our expertise. Our vision is to be the leading mid-market investor in Western headquartered industrial businesses with defined characteristics servicing identified core sectors.

Key Principles

Creating Value
We work with companies where we believe our innovative approach to working with and developing companies can add significant value.

Leadership Support
Instead of outsourcing the operational support to our investments, we can integrate our specialised Operations team to work with the existing team in the portfolio company supporting all aspects of the operational investment process, while ensuring operational continuity and improvement.

Sustainable Improvement
We invest in businesses to grow businesses. We target companies where our management and investment expertise can improve the operating revenue and profits. The objective is to nurture the business through investment and growth rather than cost-cutting and asset stripping.

Global Opportunities
We work with domestic and international companies to develop strong market positions. Via a global market platform, we can benefit from the exposure to emerging markets. Our investment process explains these principles further.
