Cooler Recycling Solutions (CRS) an alternative to traditional scrap and recycling operations. Where our aim is to establish long working partnerships with our customers. Serving all industries, including brewery, dairy and commercial refrigeration. Our end-of-life asset recovery option, involves accounting and auditing of materials, enabling us to give you the best possible financial return. CRS, we work hard to provide one-stop solutions for companies across the Brewing and Dispense industries generally. We offer a business to business (B2B) service to asset management which is both environmentally responsible and attractively cost-effective.
The CRS Group of companies has grown since 2005 from a modest asset management and recycling operation in the North East of England to a truly national operator with sites across the UK and a dedicated transport fleet. Our growth has been the result of a drive to serve the retail, dispense and vending industries in all aspects of service delivery.
Within the sectors we serve the supply chain often becomes very complex and fragmented, requiring from us a level of flexibility and initiative which has not been available in the past. Our group objective now is to assist our clients in their own growth and hopefully to bring increased efficiency and ultimately a rigorous environmental consciousness to the products and services they provide.
CRS operates three primary service divisions, retail, logistics and recycling/waste management. All of which are able to act with autonomy or strategically depending on our clients' needs.
At CRS we do not treat corporate responsibility (CR) as a gesture or add-on. It is part of our core business and will help us accomplish sustainable business success.
Our approach to CR is to encourage stakeholders to understand their expectations on the issues most important to them, and to respond with programmes and targets, and to communicate regularly and transparently on our progress.
We consider the environment, human well being and safety paramount in all areas of business.
We maintain a commitment to ethical business by dealing only with those who share our common ethics.
As an environmental business we have a clear set goals:
Introducing renewable energy at our AATF’s
Assisting our customers towards sustainability
Disposing of residual waste by energy recovery
As a responsible employer we are commited to:
Training and personal betterment of staff
Proactive Health and Safety
As a responsible member of the community we aim to:
Support good causes in the communities
Conduct our operations as good neighbours
As a responsible service provider to reputable companies set rules to ensure that we:
Never embarrass our clients
Never mislead our clients
Act consistently with their brand image
We will through training and in setting corporate rules instil in the fabric of our company these principles.
We will not tolerate employees who act against the best interests of the company, their fellow workers, our customers and the community.
We are proud to announce that we are implementing an environmental management system (EMS) in order that we can understand, influence and reduce the environmental impact of our business activities.
Part of the implementation plan is to communicate our environmental intentions and policy to our customers, suppliers and interested parties - please check out our policy.
All our people are aware of the need to reduce our environmental impact and significance while remaining a profitable company. We have put in place a series of company objectives which we’d be happy to share if you contact us. We will of course be updating this site on a regular basis as our progress develops.
Another win for Cooler Recycling Solutions Ltd - now ISO 14001 certified!
The Company achieved yet another milestone on 17 February in our efforts to champion the cause of the environment and add to the success of industry in this part of Northumberland. Director Mike Storey said 'We are absolutely delighted to receive the award of ISO 14001 status. It's the top accreditation for environmental awareness in business and everyone in the Company has played their part in our success. Many organisations set up what they call a 'Green Team' to champion improvements, but we decided very soon after making our original plans that we wanted each and every member of staff to feel that they were involved. That was about 18 months ago and it couldn't have been a more successful decision.' Some of the improvements CRS have made during this time have included: reducing our waste going to landfill by two-thirds, making sure that whenever possible materials and equipment are returned to use or recycled, and reducing our use of printer ink and paper. We also measure our carbon footprint every month to make sure we are always heading in the right direction. Mike says, 'Without sustainable, healthy communities, we know we won't - long-term - have a healthy, sustainable business.'
