About us

CSRHub rates 12 indicators of employee, environment, community and governance performance and flags many special issues. We offer subscribers immediate access to 139 million detailed data points from our 556-plus data sources. Our data comes from thirteen socially responsible investing research firms, well-known indexes, publications, “best of” or “worst of” lists, NGOs, crowd sources and government agencies. By aggregating and normalizing the information from these sources, CSRHub has created a broad, consistent rating system and a searchable database that links each rating point back to its source.

CSRHub's mission is to foster access to sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) information. We aim to be an engine of transparency that encourages more consistent and actionable disclosure from all types of organizations.

CSRHub and CSR Ratings Today

Today, many companies publicly share and prioritize their environmental, employee, community and governance actions and performance. Yet, this information is not always formally reported, and even if it is, it isn’t codified. Of the Fortune 1000, about 70 percent talk about CSR on their website, but only an estimated 27 percent provide a CSR report. The percentage of smaller companies reporting their CSR behavior is even lower.

Dedicated activist groups, socially responsible investment (SRI) and environment, social and governance (ESG) firms, publishers, bloggers and government agencies review and analyze the behavior of thousands of companies. However, this data can be limited, difficult to access, very expensive or does not exist. Furthermore, it can be difficult to compare without a common framework to compile sources into a single consistent rating system.

CSRHub’s patent-pending system aggregates and normalizes 139 million data points from over 556 data sources—including private sources that cost $20,000 to $100,000 per year. We provide powerful search and analysis tools and link transparently to our data sources. These ESG/SRI sources have never previously allowed an outside group to combine their data into a single product. We add and harmonize data inputs from government, NGOs, publications and crowd- and social network-based sources.
