An Air drying Unit to complement the Sulphur Burner is also offered by us to our clients who wish to avoid the problems of corrosion in piping systems due to formation of Sulphurus acid in the Sulphur burners. We also manufacture Cerolene based FRP pipes and pipe fittings. Very well received in the industry, these are in use in about 55 sugar mills in India.
In the spirit of innovation DU has developed an Electric Melting system (E-Melt) wherein, steam is generated in a electric boiler for melting of sulphur for the Film type Sulphur Burner. This obviates the need for drawing 7 Kg steam from the boiler over long distances, causing considerable energy loss. The electric energy used is minimal, and the equipment cost can be recovered within one crushing season. Almost 40 E-Melt systems have been commissioned by DU in the last 3-4 crushing seasons. An important adjunct to the E-Melt is the Waste Heat Recovery system (WHR) in which the heat from the hot SO2 gas coming out of the sulphur furnace is utilized to heat/convert water into steam for melting of sulphur. This is a wonderful energy saving device and is fast gaining popularity after its success in Mawana, Titawi and DSCL Ajbapur.
Anaerobic digestion of the organic waste water from the following industries produces Biogas:
a. Distilleries and Breweries
b. Sewage Treatment plants (including municipal solids, liquids and landfills)
c. Food and agro processing Units
d. Starch & Palm Oil
f. Animal dropping (cattle, pigs, poultry etc)
Presently most industries are either flaring this biogas or are burning it in a boiler to produce some power. This is extremely inefficient as the H2S present in the biogas, on burning converts into H2SO4, which corrodes the boiler tubes, needing frequent replacement.
In collaboration with BiogasClean, a Denmark based company; Digital Utilities provides an H2S scrubbing system, using biological means. After scrubbing, the clean biogas can be directly burned in a Gas engine for production of electrical power. This power can be either used in your process or sold to the grid. These state H2S scrubbing systems are manufactured by DU Digital Processes (P) Ltd, a sister concern of DU, in technical collaboration with M/s BiogasClean, a company from Denmark which has pioneered the biological scrubbing process.
Digital Utilities has developed and manufactures special grade Cerolene blended Fibreglass Reinforced Pipes and other associated fittings (CFRP)...
for various applications in the Sugar industry, where conventional pipes made of Mild Steel, Cast Iron or even SS were not suitable and proved to be expensive. In all such systems CFRP pipes and pipe fittings have proved to be a much more reliable and cost-effective solution.
Digital Utilities presently has its own manufacturing facility in a 2000 sq yards workshop
Located in the Suroorpur Industrial Area in Faridabad. However, the company has purchased a 4850 sq yards plot on the outskirts of Faridabad, where construction of a world class steel fabrication and assembly / testing unit is in progress.
Digital Utilities has collaborated with BiogasClean A/S, a leading company from Denmark www.biogasclean.com ) to manufacture desulphurisation plants for scrubbing the Hydrogen sulphite from the biogas obtained as a bye product from the distilleries. The Biogas is normally used in the distilleries as a fuel for the boiler to generate electricity. However the high sulphur content and the Hydrogen sulphite present in the biogas greatly reduces the calorific value of the biogas and the life of the boiler. The biogas is also used to generate electricity by using it to run a gas engine. If the gas contains too much hydrogen sulphide, sulphuric acid will form in the engine’s vital parts during combustion. This will lead to breakdowns and expensive repairs. Similarly, the engine manufacturers’ warranties are conditional upon the biogas having a low level of sulphur. As a gas engine typically represents a substantial investment, the fact that the warranty may be invalid or restricted constitutes a strong incentive to clean the gas. The exhaust gases from the chimney will also have a high content of sulphur dioxide if the biogas is not cleaned. Desulphurisation plant manufactured by Digital Utilities under licence from BiogasClean A/S are therefore both an economically sound and an environmentally correct solution.
