Emerge Knowledge Design Inc.
Emerge Knowledge was founded in 2001 by Rick Penner and Jen Peters with the goal of developing innovative solutions that help organizations achieve their sustainability goals. The first version of our industry leading data management software - Re-TRAC - was launched in 2004 and the next generation Re-TRAC Connect was released in 2011. Re-TRAC Connect is now being used by many city, county, state/provincial, and national government agencies as well as a wide range of other organizations to efficiently collect, manage, and analyze recycling and solid waste data. The user community is rapidly expanding as more organizations find out about how Re-TRAC can streamline their information management activities saving them time and money.

About Us
Why we are trusted
Emerge Knowledge is a dynamic team of Environmental and Technology professionals who are passionate about contributing new ideas to advance sustainability.
We've earned a solid reputation through serving a wide range of clients including national and state/provincial government agencies, leading community and educational organizations, and small to medium size enterprises.
We take a team based approach to client service by actively listening to our clients to understand the evolving needs of our community. Each year we also participate in more than 20 national and state/provincial recycling conferences in North America to build new relationships and nurture lasting ones.
Our Commitment
To help sustainability professionals achieve their goals
We are dedicated to providing innovative software tools and reliable support to help communities and organizations achieve waste reduction targets.
We walk the talk
We put our environmental and human values into action. We actively minimize waste, recycle, compost, source organic and fair trade products, use energy efficiently, and value sustainable transportation.
Team members who use public transit receive 100% employer-sponsored Eco-Passes (many of us walk or ride our bikes).
To nurture our environment
We will continue to foster a creative and cohesive work culture. We encourage open dialogue, skill diversity, and creativity to facilitate the cross-pollination of ideas.
We further build relationships by 'working' together outside of the office; playing ball hockey and baseball, enjoying summer barbecues, and even visiting the local MRF (really!) are examples of how we nurture the Emerge Knowledge family.
