Flood Sentry was established in 2012 to address the growing problem of water leaks in copper water pipe systems. Throughout Southern California, water districts purify our water by adding chlorine and ammonia. These disinfecting agents react with the copper and slowly destroy our pipes. This reaction has resulted in an epidemic of pinhole leaks, catastrophic pipe failures and huge insurance losses. Flood Sentry co-founders, Tammy Salis and John Chevalier, personally experienced a devastating series of water pipe leaks in their homes and decided to combine their skills and experience to solve this problem. Tammy’s background in research, marketing and business matched perfectly with John’s background as an engineer, inventor and alarm company owner for over 30 years. John has been designing custom high-end security systems for decades and has won awards for 2 revolutionary inventions in the security industry; Flood Sentry promises to be the third.
