The applications cover: air-conditioning and cleanroom systems, surface treatment, gas turbine intake air filtration, intake air filtration for machines/processes and dust removal systems. In liquid filtration jobs, high performance nonwovens are used for filtering milk, edible oil, drinking water and process fluids.

Our liquid filtration expertise covers filter media for coolants and lubricants, oil and fuel (automotive), pool and spa, food and beverages as well as membrane support fabrics.

In 2017 we celebrate the 60th anniversary of Freudenberg’s Filter Business. This means 60 years of experience, consulting expertise as well as product and service innovations in air and liquid filtration. 60 years ago, nonwoven pioneer Freudenberg introduced the first chapter of a new success story: nonwoven based filter mats. From these beginnings a diverse and flourishing business developed, which has been operated since 2009 by an independent Business Group, Freudenberg Filtration Technologies. Today, we are providing high-performance, energy-efficient concepts for the filtration of air and liquids to protect people and the environment and to optimize industrial processes. We are not only developing and manufacturing filter products, but also complete system solutions and unique services, like the filterCair air quality management program.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies stands for the highest quality from the first stage of development to manufacture and delivery of the products, from application engineering consultancy all the way through to After-Sales service.

As part of the Freudenberg Group, all known filter media technologies are available in-house. That is why we manufacture our nonwovens filter media within the Freudenberg Group to guarantee the highest process safety and top quality. We give particular priority to preventive quality assurance for our products and services and we operate a holistic integrated quality management system. All our business processes are subjected to continual monitoring and further development. Numerous certifications bear testimony to our clear commitment to the highest standards.

“Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen mbH” (DQS), the German organization for the certification of management systems, has certified Freudenberg Filtration Technologies to the current version of DIN EN ISO 9001. Our holistic integrated management system is based on the current versions of ISO/TS 16949 (particular requirements for automotive production), DIN EN ISO 14001 (environmental management) and OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety). Six Sigma is firmly anchored in our corporate culture.

We were one of the first manufacturers to comply with the criteria of EUROVENT certification for air filters of classes M5 to F9. This means that neutral test institutes regularly monitor compliance with the key performance data of our fine filters. Detailed information on EUROVENT certification is available from www.eurovent-certification.com. In North America we have been certified to Greenguard. We also set the benchmark in office filters: the micronAir® office fine dust filter for laser printers, faxes and copiers is the only printer filter to have received the official test seal from the German TÜV technical authority certifying “effective protection against fine dust and toner dust”.

When the company’s founder, Carl Johann Freudenberg, introduced his two sons as business partners in 1887, he expressed initial guidelines in his General Observations. Modesty, honesty, financial solidity and the ability to adjust to changing conditions are fundamental values of a successful entrepreneur.

In 1994, 10 Business Principles, derived from Freudenberg's successful history, were written down for the first time. These Business Principles were considered a framework and a legacy for future generations of Members of the Board of Management.
