Gradko’s ambient air monitoring equipment is widely used to monitor both indoor and outdoor air quality. Continuous development allows us to provide equipment for a broad range of applications, covering short-term and long-term monitoring. Pollutants can be detected even at very low levels – limits of detection are typically in the low parts per billion (ppb) range.
Soil and Groundwater Monitoring and Testing

Previous land uses or accidental spills can result in Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) contamination of soils. Volatile and semi-volatile compounds can then permeate through the soil and may persist for several years. This contamination can be traced and measured using our Soil Probes in conjunction with our VOC sorbent tubes. Soil probes are also useful in checking the effectiveness of remediation actions. This monitoring technique provides a cost-effective identification of hazardous gases.

Many occupations involve the use of hazardous substances or processes, where pollutants may be ingested, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. General ambient pollutants can also have health implications in otherwise non-hazardous workplaces. Occupational exposure limits regulate many pollutants based on an eight-hour working day. Personal exposure assessments can be made over an eight-hour period (Time Weighted Average (TWA) exposure) using our simple to use monitoring equipment.

BREEAM Air Quality

The sustainability and environmental impact of a new build house is typically assessed using BREEAM. Part of the BREEAM assessment method is determining the air quality inside the house. Gradko can supply a range of products for qualified BREEAM assessors. We try to work with qualified BREEAM assessors to determine and meet their requirements. The products we normally supply are used for monitoring formaldehye and VOC levels in new build properties.
