The Harrington Corporation (HARCO) was founded in 1966 in Lynchburg, Virginia, to produce push-on joint ductile iron fittings. HARCO was the first manufacturer in the United States to produce injection molded gasketed PVC fittings for SDR-26 and SDR-21 pipe, injection molded gasketed PVC fittings for SDR-35 sewer pipe and injection molded gasketed PVC fittings for C900 PVC pipe. HARCO developed the first compact ductile iron mechanical joint fittings (AWWA C153) in 1977.
