All over the world, our products play a central role in securing a sustainable environment. From Australia to Norway and from United States of America to Siberia, sewer cleaning tankers from Hvidtved Larsen work in the most extreme conditions - from the artic temperatures of Siberia to the extreme heat of the deserts.

Problems with blocked and damaged sewer lines resulting from lack of maintenance and insufficient cleaning are known throughout the world. However, at Hvidtved Larsen, we know that systematic maintenance, high quality equipment as well as comprehensive training of operators reduce the risk of polluted oceans and flooding sewers. That is why we say: Sewer cleaning tankers make a difference to the environment.

RECycler® is the future
Insufficient water resources are forcing authorities in many countries to impose restrictions on water consumption. We have responded to these challenges by introducing the RECycler® unit to the market. The RECycler® is equipped with a ground-breaking filter system that continuously cleans jetting water, meaning it can be re-used immediately during operation. As a result, water filling and transportation is kept to a minimum. This technology reduces CO2 emission, while at the same time, enabling the operators to increase efficiency on the job.

The flexibility our customers gain by using the RECycler® technology has gained significance all over the world. Even in countries where water resourcers are not threatened, our RECycler® units are appreciated for how it reduces transportation, fuel consumption and CO2 emission, while, at the same time, ensuring that operators do not have to compromise performance for the environment.

This is our customers' certainty that every part of our units live up to our high sustainability standards and that our sewer cleaning tankers make a difference for the environment - in its function and as a product.

We routinely evaluate alternatives to the components we use and our manufacturing process. We strive to optimze both our products and processes without compromising the quality of our units. Only this way, we can maintain our position as a manufacturer of the world's best sewer cleaning tankers.

In our daily operations, we are at the cutting edge of regulatory requirements imposed on manufacturing companies. In doing so, we maintain not only our leading sustainable position on the market, but we also maintain a company defined by a high level of safety and employee satisfaction.

In 1915, Hvidtved Larsen was founded in Denmark by Jakob Hvidtved Larsen. Originally Hvidtved Larsen was a traditional forge, but the business developed rapidly and the founder decided to direct his attention to manufacturing rather than repairing. Within a few years in the industry, Hvidtved Larsen became recognized for its craftmanship and high quality.

In the years to come, we manufactured roof constructions, bridge bascules, cranes and even the machines that make labels for paper currency. However, in the mid 1950s, Hvidtved Larsen received an order to produce the first sewer cleaning unit. Looking back, this order became a historic event for Hvidtved Larsen.

The first sewer cleaning unit

In 1956, this first sewer cleaning unit left the factory in Denmark and it became the start to the company's largest expansion since 1915. Sewer cleaning tankers grew into the most rapidly expanding production niche. In 1996, Søren Hvidtved Larsen (third generation in the family business) reorganized the company as a joint-stock company and decided to focus 100% on the manufacturing of sewer cleaning tankers and gradually phase out the subcontracting work.

This decision proved to be the right one. Hvidtved Larsen has manufactured more than 2,200 sewer cleaning units of which almost 30 % are sold to Danish customers. The latter 70 % are found outside the borders of Denmark. Towards the end of the 1990s, the export of Hvidtved Larsen sewer cleaning units gained momentum and the export has within the last several years accounted for almost 70 % of the production.

Today, we pride ourselves on manufacturing sewer cleaning equipment using the best and most advanced technological components available. Our commitment to technology and innovation ensures that our customers' needs comes first, ensuring they do not have to compromise performance for the environment.
